Planning

For more info, see:

Decide what your offering will be
Will you be offering Learn2Drive3D as a service to your staff or to the community in a social responsibility or community outreach programme?
Are you offering Learn2Drive3D as part of your business, to generate income? Will you provide a test facility where users can do the mock test before they go for their licence, or will you be offering full-blown courses? Will this be self-study, or instructor-led sessions?

OFFERING MODELS

Work out the timings for courses
How long does it take learners to work their way through the Learn2Drive3D material? If you will be offering courses of a set length, you will want to know how long to make them. If you will let learners work through the material at their own pace, you will still want to know how long most people need. Sheet 3
COURSE LENGTH
  Work out a pricing model
If Learn2Drive3D Classroom will be an income generator for you, will you be charging per session, per month, or for a course of a set length? Find out how we charge, and then add your own costs and markup to come up with your pricing model. Sheet 4
PRICING MODELS
Create a system to book user sessions
Will you work on a first-come first-served basis, or will learners come at set times? Will you organise them into groups who all come for sessions together, or will you book time for each of your computers separately? Use our Learner bookings sheet to book time for individual learners. Sheet 5
LEARNER BOOKINGS SHEET
  Market your offering
How will you get the word out to users that you are running a Learn2Drive3D Classroom? We will provide you with a marketing pack to get you started, and you will have a lot of your own ideas too. Check Sheet 6 to see what we can provide you with. Sheet 6
MARKETING IDEAS
Check that your computers will run Learn2Drive3D
Learn2Drive3D Classroom runs on the Windows platform on normal desktop computers. For the Driver’s section and the 3D scenarios, you will need graphics cards that support DirectX9C. Check the full System Requirements on Sheet 8. Sheet 7
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Decide who will set up user accounts
If you are setting up your Learn2Drive3D Classroom to run itself, you may choose to let users set up and activate their own user accounts. If you are taking a more hands-on approach you may like to set up the user accounts centrally yourself. Sheet 8
USER MANAGEMENT
  Plan your operations
Once your Learn2Drive3D Classroom is set up, you will need to keep it running smoothly by performing some easy functions now and then, like backing up your database, sending through update files to us and ordering new activations when you are running low. Think about who will perform these functions, and when. You should also decide whether you are going to offer your users any support.  Sheet 9
